Q: What information does a company receive when it runs a credit check on an individual?
Does a credit check give details on how many individual accounts you have open and the balances due or do they just receive the credit score?
A: They receive no. of debts and how much is owed on each. Also, any bankruptcies; if payments were not paid on time; if you paid above the minimum payment, etc.
Q: What information is provided to a financial institution when they do a Soft Credit check?
When a financial institution 'pre approves' someone for a credit card/car loan/home loan they have done a 'soft credit check' on the person.
What information is contained in this soft credit check? Does it include all negative and positive trade lines? Is the FICO score provided?
A: There is no such thing as a "soft" credit check. They either check your credit history and FICO score or they don't. Don't let the bank fool you.
Q: What details do banks see when they do a credit check?
I am applying for a mortgage and I am wondering what details banks see when thy do a credit check. Do they see who you own money and how much? Or do they just see like a numbered rating?
Could you also please explain any terms that might come up, such as certain capacities and what all that means?
A: you need to get hold of your own report so you can see for yourself.
Yes they see who you owe money to, how much, for how long and whether you are making the agreed repayments on time. I seem to remember there's a numbered rating for each month's repayments with, say, 0 indicating a late payment, 1 indicating payment made on time, etc. It will also list your county court judgments if any, and any defaults.
But do get hold of your own report so you know what the bank will be seeing. It's only £2 from

Q: How long does the ping my credit takes when a check is preformed take to fall off my credit?
I was wonderoing if it takes the full 7 years for the loss of points when a credit check is prefromed to be added back to my score?
I had a few credit checks when shopping for a loan. I had a score of 805 and see that it has now dropped to the 780's due to the checks. I wondered how long it would take to go back up to the previous score
A: I am not for sure what you mean by a "ping". If you mean an inquiry being listed, it comes off in 24 months. If you mean a collection or unpaid bill, it takes 7 years from the date of last charge as given by your creditor.
You can review all the rules which govern Credit Bureaus and Credit Grantor's by going to the "Fair Credit Reporting Act" on the web.
Q: Does Avon do a credit check on you before you can sell their product?
I was just wondering if Avon does a credit check before allowing people to sell? I don't have the best credit, so I'm a little unsure if I even want to go through the embarrassment and getting rejected. Thanks for your help!
A: No they don't do a credit check but what they do is they let you order up to a certain limit according to the amount of info that you provide. So the more info you provide the higher the order size they will let you order.
When you join Avon it is your business so you do what you choose to do with it as you please.
Personally for me it has been worth while. I am able to make $250 every 2 weeks in addition to my full time income.

If you do happen to be interested and are ready to get started just go to my website and click my name so that I could email you online application website information.
Hope that helped answer your question!
Q: Does a landlord have to run a credit check on all tenants?
I am moving in with friends who have already been approved and lived at their residence for a while. I am asking to move in with them, but the Landlord is asking for both a credit check AND a rental agreement. Shouldn't I only have to signe the rental agreement and that's that?
I live in the Orange County, Ca area.
Thank you for your input, but I am solely looking from a legal point. Any reference to actual codes/ laws would be great.
Friends ALREADY live there and have been fully approved. I am looking to move in to an existing situation.
A: No...most landlord want will do a credit/background check on all legal occupants.
Edit: There is no legal statutes one way or the other. Simply a policy of the landlord/management.
Q: How does rent to own homes work? Can I buy without a credit check?
My credit is not good. Is there a way a home owner can sell to me without a credit check.
A: better deal for you is to call for sale by owners and offer them a rent to own situation. You can always talk them into just taking over the mortgage payments without any money as a down payment. The advertise and resell the property at a higher price to another buyer who has a down payment. The down payment and higher price is a nice profit for putting lipstick on a pig.
for sale by owners have no way to check credit so they believe anything you tell them
Q: How long does it take to run a credit check for an apartment?
I recently applied to rent for an apartment. How long does it take for them to run all the credit check and to verify that all the information written on the application was true? I want to move in as soon as possible and I am 100% sure I meet the income requirements, and am 99% sure I have great rental history and credit history. Does it take two-three days or what??
A: To run a credit check takes about 30 seconds
Q: Where can I go to do a credit check on a potential renter?
I just became a landlord and need to do a credit check. Where can I go to do this?
A: You might try joining the local Apartment House Association in your city. There is a fee for joining, but they offer their members many services covering renting and tenant laws, as well as the ability to run your credit reports.
They have many things you will need as a landlord. When you contact them you might inquire of the fees and dues to join, cost to run a credit check, what other services they offer and when and where they hold their monthly meetings.
I hope this has been of some use for you, good luck.
